This is a collage of details from paintings by various old masters.
The starring role is given to the girl in the foreground. She really existed (1832-1865), her name was Faustine Léo and she was the niece of the man who painted her so beautifully: the German-born French painter Henri Lehmann (1814 - 1882).
I placed the girl in a hilly landscape with flowers and with a beautiful blue sky full of clouds above.
I deliberately placed the hill in the background at an angle, a small nod to painting on my part. It gives this artwork something extra special, don't you think?
The stylists at Art Heroes call my art style ‘Art with a Wink’. And I couldn't agree more. Life is serious enough as it is, don't you think? ;-)
