About "The Gekko in BNW"

About the artwork

What stands out here isn’t just the lizard, but the way it clings so confidently to the weathered surface beneath it. The texture of the wood is sharp and pronounced, each grain and knot amplified by the monochrome treatment. It makes the photo feel more tactile—like you could reach in and feel the ridges with your fingers. The diagonal arrangement of the logs adds a strong sense of movement, even though the subject itself is perfectly still. That quiet tension is part of what makes this shot work. The background is completely smooth and dark, almost like a studio backdrop, which isolates the lizard and pushes all your focus onto the foreground. I kept staring at how the shadow clings to the body, giving it form without overcomplicating the scene. It’s a simple composition, but it doesn’t feel lacking—everything that’s needed is already there. What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
