About ‘The Famous Windmills of Kinderdijk’ by Stephan Spelde

The 19 windmills of Kinderdijk (Childrens Dike) are part of a system that has kept the surrounding polder land unflooded since 1740.

It has been on the Unesco World Heritage list since 1997.

Nice sidenote that I just found out myself: This place is home of the famous "The Cat and the Cradle" tale.
