Every step through picturesque Middle Delfland feels like opening a new chapter. With my camera in hand, I wander through the landscape, looking for hidden birds hiding in the reeds or high in the trees. Their songs often echo before their appearance, and it takes patience to spot them. Peering into the trees or tracking through the reeds, I wait for that one moment of movement that grabs my attention.
On one of my walks through the Vockestaert, an enchanting area between Delft and Schiedam, I spotted my first Goldfinch and Bluethroat. But the Bearded Tit, my favourite bird, remains the most memorable discovery. These encounters are the inspiration for my art.
The resulting image is a fusion of photography and digital art. In MidJourney, I placed the bird against an abstract, flowing background in warm tones. The watercolour-like textures and subtle colour transitions create a dreamy atmosphere, in which the Bearded Owl takes centre stage. The composition reflects the serenity of early morning and the freshness of a winter walk.
This artwork is more than a visual representation; it captures the essence of nature and brings a sense of calm and wonder into the home. It fits a variety of interior styles, from minimalist Scandinavian to warm rural, and exudes a serene beauty that enriches any space.
