About ‘The Breakwater’ by Martin van der Zee

I often go for a walk along the beach, where the sea and the wind combine to create a sense of space and tranquillity. The rhythm of the waves and the open horizon provide a moment of stillness, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

In this photograph, you can see a breakwater made of wooden piles extending into the sea. The line of piles naturally draws your gaze towards the distance. Right at the very end, exactly in the middle of the breakwater, stands a single pile in the water. A subtle yet powerful point where everything seems to converge.

It is precisely that single element that gives the image its character. It emphasises the direction, yet simultaneously breaks the predictability of the line. It invites you to look longer and truly take in the image. The photograph conveys a sense of balance between stillness and movement. It shows that simplicity and detail can together form a story. A quiet moment, captured in a landscape that is always in motion.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
