Atlantis (Ancient Greek: Ἀτλαντίς, "island of Atlas") is a mythical island kingdom whose historicity is unclear. Atlantis was first mentioned in Plato's dialogues Timaeus and Critias. Due to a catastrophe, the empire would fall around 9600 BCE.
