About ‘The Amstel hotel in Amsterdam.’ by Don Fonzarelli

The Amstel hotel in Amsterdam seen from the Toronto Bridge.
Its official address is Professor Tulpplein 1 in Amsterdam, but most of us know it as seen from the Amstel River.
The U-shaped building was commissioned by Samuel Sarphati and designed by Cornelis Outshoorn in 1863.
It opened in the summer of 1867.
Some famous guests: British Queen Elizabeth, Henry Kissinger, Audrey Hepburn and Steven Spielberg. Pop stars The Rolling Stones and Rihanna regularly stay there when they are in the Netherlands.
