It is certainly one of the most impressive and beautiful places on the island of Texel - De Slufter.
The nature, fauna and flora are unique, the landscape varied.
The dune area is open to the sea. At high tide and when the wind is a little stronger inland, the area sometimes fills up with sea water. I myself was on the beach at low tide and had to take off my shoes and socks on the way back to get back dry. The tide and wind had pushed a lot of water into the interior.
Many different hiking trails lead to the sea here, and there is always something new to discover along the way.
If you visit the area often, you will be amazed every time that a different view opens up in front of you.
For me, this is one of the highlights of the entire North Sea coast. Definitely worth a visit.
