The photo is part of the "Terraces" personal project.
In particular, the nocturnal effect is unreal.
It's a 2010 photograph taken in the historic Terrazza Mascagni, Livorno, in Tuscany.
The shot was taken at twilight on a cloudy day with the sun against it. These are usually the conditions during which the luminosity of the sea is higher than that of the sky.
The effect is then amplified using one or more neutral-density graduated filters or with the help of a black card on the horizon.
