Terra Texture – Modern abstract painting in terracotta, cream and black by Bianca ter Riet

Terra Texture is a modern abstract painting in which colour, form and texture come together in a warm and powerful composition. Rich terracotta and copper-coloured areas form the heart of the work and are combined with soft cream and beige tones and a deep black area. The various colour fields appear to be built up in layers upon one another, creating an exciting rhythm of shapes and textures.

The power of this artwork lies not only in its use of colour, but above all in its distinctive paint texture. Thick layers of paint, visible brushstrokes and irregular edges give the surface an almost tactile quality. Some areas are smooth and tranquil, whilst others are coarse and expressive. This contrast creates depth and makes the work interesting to view both up close and from a distance.

The warm colour palette of terracotta, rust brown, copper, cream and black complements natural materials and contemporary interior design trends beautifully. This modern abstract painting fits perfectly into a Japandi, modern, minimalist, industrial or hotel-chic interior. The earthy colours bring warmth and character to a space and combine beautifully with wood, natural stone, linen and warm metals.

For lovers of abstract art, textural art, geometric art, modern painting and luxurious wall art, this is a powerful and contemporary piece. As no recognisable subject is depicted, the viewer is free to interpret the shapes, colours and textures in their own way.

I find inspiration in the power of colour and the beauty of imperfection. With this piece, I wanted to create warmth and depth by bringing together different textures and earthy tones. I hope it brings a sense of calm, whilst continuing to fascinate with its rich texture.
