About the Brain Activity series:
Brain Activity explores the tension between authenticity and adaptation. It is a study in contrasts: lines that collide and move, shapes that break and recover. This relief work brings a quiet, yet powerful expression of inner conflict and mental pressure. The use of white fineliner on pressed paper creates a tactile experience, inviting introspection and stillness amid the noise of everyday life.
Inspiration:
This series is inspired by the inner tension in which we live: the constant balancing act between societal expectations and our true identity. In Brain Activity, I translate this mental turmoil and the dynamics of thoughts into a visual language of lines and relief. Each work is a reflection on the complex layering of emotions and the search for balance amidst chaos.
My work starts with a line. Sometimes tight, sometimes searching. Structures grow from it, like thoughts trying to organise themselves. Each work balances between calm and friction, between control and chaos.
