One of my fondest memories of the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands in Spain. I am standing high up at 2100 meters in the Teide National Park and look into the sunset above the clouds.
In the background you can see the volcano Pico del Teide, which is with its 3715 meters height the highest elevation in Spain. Around me it is pleasantly calm and quiet. You only hear the wind in the trees as well as the buzzing of the bees, and smell the scent of the pines and flowers around you. Below the clouds is the city of Puerto de la Cruz with its 6 lane roads, cars and construction sites. Up here you notice nothing of it. I enjoy the nature to the full while I slowly build up my tripod and select the final position for my final picture. When the sun was just above the clouds, the flowers shone beautifully in the backlight. This picture here was taken about 15 minutes after the sun had set. A great evening high above the clouds on this very special island in the Canary Islands.
