On the shores of Lake Bratan in Bali lies one of the island's most famous temples: Pura Ulun Danu Bratan. I was there early in the morning, when the mist slowly swept over the water and enveloped the temple in an almost magical silence. That moment made a deep impression, as if the temple was not just a place to see, but also to feel.
What makes this picture so special to me is the unexpected detail: a group of ducks gliding peacefully across the lake. While many images of this place focus mainly on the temple towers and their reflection in the water, this scene added something extra. It felt like nature and ancient culture momentarily came together in perfect harmony, right in front of my lens.
The silence there was almost palpable. Only the gentle lapping of the water and the movement of the ducks broke the calm. It is precisely these small details that enhance the grandeur of the temple.
The composition emphasises that feeling: the ducks lead your eye towards the temple, while the mist forms a mysterious veil. The contrast between the vivid foreground moment and the quiet background makes you keep looking.
This image reminds me of the serenity of Bali, and I hope it does the same for others. It's more than a photo of a temple; it's an invitation to pause for a moment, take a deep breath and let it take you away to that morning calm at Lake Bratan.
