Take-off U.S. Air Force McDonnell Douglas KC-10 Extender.
The KC-10 Extender was originally developed by the US Air Force to complement the Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker. This aircraft was deemed unsuitable for some tasks following incidents in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. After the DC-9, the DC-10 was the second McDonnell Douglas transport aircraft to be further developed by the US Air Force. A total of 60 KC-10s were produced for the US Air Force. For the United States, the KC-10 plays an important role in participating in distant overseas operations.
