In a twilight landscape where the boundaries between reality and dream blur, pink glass pigs wander aimlessly. They seem fragile, fragile almost, contrasting with the dark, ominous ground they move across. Some pigs seek shelter among white rose-like cacti, as if to hide from something that threatens to be invisible.
Above the scene floats a massive stone face, unfazed and ageless. From its mouth flows a row of euro coins. The coins seem weightless yet menacing, as if they do not feed the pigs, but rather weigh them down, change them, possess them. Money, always in motion, flowing to some and transforming others. Here it is not a symbol of wealth, but an intangible force that sets something irreversible in motion
It is a world where the everyday becomes absurd, and the absurd simultaneously recognisable. My work challenges us to think about value, about the role of money and the way it shapes us.
By using collage techniques, in which images from magazines are brought together and edited digitally, a new reality is created. Each object is carefully chosen and placed, making the work more than a collection of images-it becomes an experience, an issue.
