The AgustaWestland AW101 (nicknamed MERLIN) is a medium helicopter for military and civilian use. First flown in 1987, it was developed by a collaboration of Westland Helicopters in the UK and Agusta in Italy in response to national requirements for a modern naval helicopter.

It is produced at factories in Yeovil, England, and Vergiate, Italy. Licensed assembly work has also been carried out in Japan and the United States.
