Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.

Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

About ‘Sunset on the Breton coast’ by SR Blaauw

The sun still hangs high above the horizon, but the warm evening light has already cast its spell over the landscape. A few small boats bob on the calm water, dark silhouettes against the sun’s golden reflection. The sky shifts from intense orange to soft hues on the horizon, whilst the distant coastline stands out like a dark band between sky and sea.

This scene unfolded on a peaceful summer’s evening by the coast, when the wind dies down and the water slowly transforms into a mirror for the last light of the day. What struck me was the simplicity of the moment. No spectacle, no movement, just the stillness of boats waiting for a new day. It is precisely this stillness that gives the scene its power.

The warm colours evoke a sense of tranquillity, freedom and holiday. Anyone who loves spending time by the sea will recognise the familiar atmosphere of a long summer’s day. The dark silhouettes of the boats lend depth to the composition and draw the eye back into the picture time and again.

In an interior, this artwork brings warmth and a relaxed atmosphere. The golden hues create an atmospheric focal point and allow you to drift off into a daydream of a peaceful evening by the water.
