About ‘Sunset in Delfshaven’ by Evert Buitendijk

A photo taken in Delfshaven during the blue hour. Delfshaven is an administrative district of the municipality of Rotterdam. Delfshaven had 70,290 inhabitants on 1 January 2006 and covers an area of 5.80 km². Originally, Delfshaven was part of Delft. In 1795 it became independent, to be annexed by Rotterdam in 1886. Delfshaven came into existence in 1389, when the Delfshavense Schie was dug to give the city of Delft a connection to the river Maas. Since then, ships from Delft could reach the Nieuwe Maas via the Delft and Delfshaven Schie. The port town of 'Delfshaven' developed around the lock. It had the status of a 'colony of Delft'. In the early sixteenth century, Delfshaven had just over 100 houses and 400 inhabitants. Growth stagnated when the Angles caused massive devastation during the Hoekse en Kabeljauwse disputes.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
