About ‘Sunset at the "Paard van Marken", the Netherlands’ by Henk Meijer Photography

A sunset at the "Paard van Marken", a lighthouse on the Dutch peninsula of Marken, on the IJsselmeer.
It was built in 1839 by J. Valk. There had been a primitive lighthouse on the site since the early 18th century; the current lighthouse has been a national monument since 1970.
