Grain field with chapel
Beautiful chapel at sunset, it stands on a small hill in a wheat field in Bemmel.
The field chapel was built in 1946 on the initiative of the then Bemmel chaplain Gijs van der Voort and designed by Charles Estourgie. A procession to the memorial chapel took place annually from Bemmel until the late 1960s.
On and around the Hill, there was heavy fighting between German and British infantry in 1944. In memory of this, this chapel was built. It still attracts many visitors, especially around the time of the national death anniversary.
