Sunset at luxury hotels in Dubai by Lynn Haverhals

This work shows an iconic silhouette rising against a low sun. The architecture cuts sharply through the warm light, while the sun itself almost dissolves everything into gold and white. In front of the building, a layered structure unfolds, horizontal and gently rounded, grounding and balancing the image.
Seagulls float through the light, small and free, making scale and movement palpable. It is an image in which city, sky and light merge.

This image was created at a moment when the day was tilting. The sun was low, the light changed rapidly and everything seemed to fall silent for a moment. The presence of the Burj Al Arab was unmistakable, but not overpowering.

The atmosphere is warm, hopeful and open. The light is intense but soft, as if softening the sharp edges. The image feels grand but not loud.

The image is photographed backlit, with deliberate overexposure around the sun to enhance the sense of transition and release. The architectural lines remain recognisable but are softened by the light. The birds add a natural, fleeting element that contrasts with the massive structures.

This work acts as a powerful yet soothing statement. It fits in interiors where there is room for light, vision and progress - modern, minimalist or architectural. It brings warmth and direction to a space without being heavy.
