In the foreground are a few characteristic trees that provide a nice depth effect in the picture. The sparsely-present clouds also create some tension in the sky. From the moment the sun has set, it starts to get dark. However, it is only completely dark after about forty minutes after the sun disk was no longer visible on the horizon. The time between the moment that the sun sets and the moment that it is completely dark is called evening twilight. In clear weather, when the sun has just set, a yellow glow often appears first. The longer the sun sets, the darker this glow becomes. Eventually, the sky was colored red to vermilion. That was also the moment this picture was taken.
