August begins of the flowering heather with its characteristic purple glow and for photographers the also called the heather fever.
Similarly, I set off early this morning to be on the heath at Gasterse Duinen 1 hour before sunrise. The night had been clear, with a small shower the day before, perfect ingredients for ground fog.
Arrived, expectations proved not unfounded, beautiful layer of fog over the heathland and a slight hint of colours in the sky due to sunrise.
This tree with bench is so beautiful in the open field and under these conditions it also invites you to sit there to daydream.
Heather fever in starting to feel it a bit.
I have been photographing since I was little, but the beauty of nature is something I really started to see by actively photographing landscapes and nature. By consciously standing still and taking in your surroundings you learn to look and feel differently.
