The Cranenweyer is a beautiful nature reserve in Kerkrade. The Cranenweyer also called the "Green Lung" and is located in the Anstel Valley. The Anstelvalley is a creek valley of about 220 hectares. On the slopes of the forests many spring brooks rise and flow into the Anstel.
The Cranenweyer is the only reservoir in the Netherlands. The nature reserve has a diverse flora and fauna which makes this area very special.

If I am going to photograph landscapes, I will usually choose to photograph during the sunrise and sunset. During this time also called the golden hours the light is at its best. The light is nice and soft and warm in color and creates beautiful long shadows. This soft warm light creates beautiful colors and a nice soft atmosphere in the picture.
