The Defence Line of Amsterdam has had UNESCO status since 1996. Both lines are world-class heritage and are now collectively known as the Dutch Waterlines. They tell the extraordinary story of the military defence of our country with water as an ally. They are unique in the world and deserve to be preserved for future generations.
