About the artwork

This image shows the iconic black church of Búðir, known as Búðakirkja, located on the rugged southern coast of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland. Photographed during an icy morning with rising sun, this image exudes peace, space and purity. The golden light shining just along the edge of the church creates a beautiful sun star and emphasises the contrast between the black silhouette of the building and the pale, frost-covered grassland in the foreground.

Búðakirkja is a favourite spot among photographers for its solitude and simplicity, in the middle of a vast and dramatic Icelandic landscape. This composition does full justice to that atmosphere: the sky is soft blue and empty, which puts the focus entirely on the subject. At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
