Summer still life with flowers and citrus fruits

by Vlindertuin-Art

This painting shows a summer still life on a wooden table, with an exuberant bouquet of flowers and an array of fruit. In the foreground are lemons, limes, a grapefruit cut open and some bunches of grapes turning deep purple. In the centre is a blue and white bowl full of citrus fruits, next to it a small cup with blue decoration. On the left of the table, pieces of broken-open fruit can be seen, while on the right is a bottle of wine. A small painting on the wall adds depth to the background.

This piece fits well in an interior that exudes warmth and a touch of rustic charm. In a bright kitchen, a cosy dining area or a living room with wooden furniture and soft colours, it would be completely at home. Even in a classic or rustic room, where flowers and natural materials play a starring role, this painting enhances the atmosphere. The look brings the feeling of a sunny morning or afternoon in a home where making time for small moments is natural.

The style of the work is impressionistic, constructed with loose, broad brushstrokes that bring life and movement to the image. The colours are vibrant but natural. Yellow and green predominate in the fruit, while the grapes and background provide depth with dark purples and blues. The flowers bring softness with pink, white and light orange, and the background remains soft and grainy, drawing attention to the table.
