About ‘Summer Clouds – Pieterpad’ by Wietske Westra

This work is part of my summer series, inspired by walks along the Pieterpad. In this series, I explore how the landscape changes as spring turns to summer: lush greenery, warmer light and skies that seem to grow ever larger.

In this piece, you see an open field beneath a clear blue sky with soft clouds that seem to drift slowly by. The horizon lies low, giving the sky plenty of space and evoking a calm, open feeling in the landscape. The green tree line forms a gentle transition between earth and sky, whilst the warm yellow tones in the grass are reminiscent of sunny days in June.

I created this piece using chalk in multiple layers, allowing the colours to blend softly into one another and creating a light, almost dreamlike atmosphere. The visible texture of the chalk gives the landscape a sense of life and tangibility.

For me, this work is about space and simplicity. About being outdoors, watching the clouds and not having to do anything for a moment. It captures a summer moment that feels both still and light. With its fresh colours and open composition, this work brings tranquillity, light and a summery atmosphere to an interior.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
