The Strijbeekse Heide is a nature reserve located in the Netherlands, specifically in the province of North Brabant.
The area is known for its heathland landscape, interspersed with forest areas. Heathlands are often rich in flora and fauna, and they provide an important habitat for various plants and animals that thrive in this particular ecosystem.
I took this photo during a morning walk along the Rondven in this beautiful nature reserve on the Belgian border. There are benches at a few spots around the lake to take a break. In the morning sun, this is a lovely place to take in nature.
The combination of tree species contributes to the biodiversity and visual appeal of the Strijbeekse Heide. As a result, some say they imagine themselves in Africa. Surely that's a nice thing to have in the Netherlands, a moment of peace as if you were in another continent.
