This gorgeous maritime landscape shot was taken during my photo and Easter trip on the unique east coast of the island of Sicily in southern Italy in the early hours of midday on 25 March 2013.
The subject was photographed with my Nikon D90.
A kilometre-long stretch of coastline with a dynamic, rocky cliff and unique, clean seawater winds its way from Giardini-Naxos to the bay of Taormina.
Situated in the shadow of the seething volcano Etna, Eastern Sicily is a land full of fire and emotion.
Here, enchanting beaches, magnificent natural landscapes, delicious local specialities and interesting cities come together.
Definitely one of the most interesting areas of the sunny island.
