The stork is one of the larger birds in the Netherlands, and is familiar to almost everyone! On their long legs, they walk with ease through reeds or grass in search of frogs, mice or insects. These birds are seen especially many agricultural landscapes where they make gigantic nests on high poles, chimneys or in trees. This is a bird that impresses every time.
This photo was taken in national park the Alde Feanen. Here there are several nests and therefore several breeding pairs. All these animals are busy raising their young. This makes them easy to find and they are regularly foraging. This leads to photos like this one!
