About ‘Still life with imaginary view, Laurens Craen’

Still life with imaginary view, Laurens Craen (1650)

This picture was formerly attributed to the great 17th-century Dutch still life painter, Jan Davidsz. de Heem, but recent scholarship favours an attribution to Laurens Craen, an artist much influenced by De Heem who may for a time have been employed in his workshop. The compositional type with a view through a window in the background and the characteristic treatment of the still life were invented by De Heem, but continued in use among numerous followers and imitators.

Laurens Craen, was a Dutch Golden Age still life painter. Laurens Craen was active between 1638 and 1664. He was possibly the son of Pieter Craen.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
