Mid-September the first quinces of this season! Because of the sudden autumnal weather, I carefully grabbed some quinces and turned them half a turn. Already enough of them had let go, even though they were still greenish. But better this way, than them falling out of the tree in strong gusts of wind and lying dented on the ground. So special after the long, hot summer that I wanted to capture three quinces with leaves. Now the quinces are ripening in the cellar, where the quinces are now giving off their delectable scent. In a month or so make quince jelly and chocolates.
