The impressionist painting style originated in the second half of the 19th century in France and is characterised by several features:

Impressionists placed a strong emphasis on capturing the play of light and colour in their works. They often used unexpected colour combinations and rendered shadows and light effects through short, loose brushstrokes.They often painted outdoors (en plein air), which allowed them to directly capture the natural surroundings and changing light conditions. This enabled them to capture spontaneous impressions and atmospheric effects.Instead of carefully elaborated and polished details, Impressionists often used short, loose brushstrokes to capture the essence of a scene. Up close, Impressionist paintings sometimes appear disjointed, but from a distance, the brushstrokes combine to form a coherent image.

All in all, impressionist artists aimed to depict a subjective interpretation of the world around them, focusing on the perception of light, colour and atmosphere rather than strict realism.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
