This statue of Queen Victoria in Victoria Gardens, Brighton, England, was sculpted by Carlo Nicoli, sculptor of The Sculptured Marble Company, London. It was commissioned by Sir John George Blaker. He presented it at the opening of Victoria Gardens at the time of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on 22 June 1897. The statue has been recently cleaned. Interestingly, she is situated opposite the Royal Pavilion, George IV's seaside residence, where she refused to stay!
