About the artwork

Lake Baikal is the largest freshwater lake in Eurasia. It has been calculated that the lake contains so much fresh water that it could meet the drinking water needs of the entire world population for a period of 5 years. The lake contains 22% of the freshwater reserves in all surface waters worldwide.[2] It is fed by more than 300 rivers, of which the Selenga in the south is the most important. The only outlet is the Angara, along which Lake Baikal flows into the Arctic Ocean via the Jenisej.

The average temperature is -19°C in winter and 14°C in summer. The lake is completely frozen on the surface in winter, with an average ice thickness of one meter. In some places even two meters. It is possible to cross the lake over the ice, but the danger of hypothermia is high. The wind blows freely over the wide mass of ice without obstacles, and because the sunlight is reflected by the ice mass away, this makes it even colder.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
