The Karlskirche is a Roman Catholic church on Karlsplatz in Vienna. Carolus Borromeüs is the patron saint of this church. The church has a portico after an antique example. In the Karlskirche you can take a glass lift to a height of 30 meters in the dome, so that the beautiful ceiling painting is clearly visible. The two columns at the front of the church are inspired by the Column of Trajan in Rome; they reinforce the biblical allusions to the Temple of Solomon.
