Venice's lagoon is home to many islands, Burano being perhaps the most colourful of them all.
The island is inhabited by a fishing community, who go out in the early hours of the day. Because of its location in the lagoon, the island is regularly blanketed in fog at sunrise. To be able to find their home again, everyone has painted their house a different colour.
In this image, you can see a quiet little square, near the accommodation where I stayed. Few tourists come here and it exudes the village life you can expect here in the early morning hours. The soft light gives a nice atmosphere and the colours are quiet shades of blue, red and pink.
This is a typical image of Burano, as you can expect on a quiet early morning on this island.
