About ‘Soul Nebula in Hubble Palette’ by Christiaan Berger

The Soul Nebula – also known as IC 1848 – is an impressive stellar nursery in the constellation Cassiopeia. Approximately 7,500 light-years away, immense clouds of gas and dust unfold, in which new stars are born. This image was constructed using the so-called Hubble Palette, combining separate images in H-alpha (hydrogen), OIII (ionised oxygen) and SII (ionised sulphur). These specific narrow-band filters reveal invisible structures and create the characteristic turquoise, blue and golden-green hues that give the nebula its almost otherworldly appearance. The image was taken entirely by myself with my own telescope setup and consists of several hours of exposure time. Every detail in this composition is the result of patience, precision and passion for the night sky. A powerful and mysterious work of art that is not only eye-catching, but also tells a story about the birth of stars — a piece of the universe, captured in light, for your wall.

My specialisation lies mainly in narrowband photography, using specific filters such as H-alpha, OIII and SII to accurately capture structures and emission regions. I also take RGB images for a true-to-life colour…

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
