This yellow fantasy snake emerges from the shadows. A hungry, drooling mouth with deadly eyes is ready to strike.
The apparently evil green eyes look directly at you, forming a nice contract with the yellow scales. The snake appears to be huge, but in reality it is very small. That is why it is not really dangerous. Like so many things in nature, there is a perception of danger, but we should experience its beauty.
The background largely determines the feeling of the painting, as it swirls around the animal in dark blue clouds.
The painting is made on canvas with oil paint. Inspired by the Schlegels grasping snake and the viper (Vipera berus). Made in multiple session, as yellow is a weaker colour compared to dark colours.
The mood of the painting is menacing and ominous but also shows the power of nature.
