Already short time after introduction of the Simca 1000 (1961-1968) the Italian tuner Abarth offered a rally version, by increasing the stroke of the 944 cm3 engine to 69 mm x 76 mm and raising the engine performance to 1136 cm.
And these were the versions that Carlo Abarth offered for sale at that time:
Simca-Abarth 1150 - 1137 cc - 55 HP (40 kW, 54 HP) at 5600 rpm - disc brakes - 11000 F
Simca-Abarth 1150 S - 1137 cc - 58 hp (43 kW, 57 hp) at 5600 rpm - disc brakes
Simca-Abarth 1150 SS - 1137 cc - 65 hp (48 kW, 64 hp) at 5600 rpm - disc brakes - option: six-speed gearbox
