About "Silent Witness to a Forgotten Time, Bluie East Two"

About the artwork

A silent witness to a troubled history, this old truck, weathered but not forgotten, stands at the abandoned US base Bluie East Two near Ikateq in East Greenland. Once a proud symbol of military strength, it is now a monument of reflection, surrounded by the timeless silence of the Arctic landscape.

At first glance, the tyres, still pitch-black and with clear tread, appear untouched by the years. But when touched, the sticky texture betrays the inevitable impermanence - even here, in the frozen solitude.

The contrast with the majestic, snow-capped mountains in the background is almost surreal. Without the remnants of World War II, this place could be the absolute embodiment of peace. This image captures a unique combination of human history and pristine nature - a reminder of what was and a call to reflect on what should never be again.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
