Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.

About ‘Silence at the Oyster Pit - Reflections in the Evening Light’ by Jan Jongejan

Along the Oesterput near Colijnsplaat, on the island of Noord-Beveland, a moment of almost absolute silence unfolded around 6pm. The wind had disappeared, the water lay like a mirror, and the sky painted soft patterns of light and shadow. Using a long shutter speed, I subtly captured the movement of the clouds, while the water actually became still-a contrast that enhanced the serene atmosphere.

This photo is more than a landscape; it is an ode to the serenity of Zeeland, to the stillness you only feel when everything falls silent for a moment. The reflections in the water capture not only the light, but also a sense of timelessness.

In an interior, this work brings a calm, meditative atmosphere. It suits people who love nature, minimalism and the beauty of the moment. Its soft colours and horizontal lines make it suitable for modern and calming spaces.

Sometime in 1980 Jan bought his first SLR camera and since that time a camera has always been at his fingertips. His varied work ranges from snapshots of people in his immediate surroundings to landscape, macro and bird photography. He is also the regular photographer of his wife's ballet school and thus regularly at work in the theater.
