On a late April morning, a dense fog hangs over the Groningen landscape like a soft veil. The Noordermolen, sturdy and silent, stands out vaguely against the pale horizon. The reeds around the mill barely sway; everything seems to stand still for a moment. Slowly, the sun begins to break through the haze, its light golden and diffuse. The water in the surrounding ditches reflects the first warm rays, while birds gently sing their day's praises. There is a serene calm, as if the world is still asleep, caught between night and day. The smell of wet grass and earth hangs in the air. Each step on the crunching gravel path sounds unusually loud in the silence. This moment, fragile and fleeting, feels like a secret between the mill and the morning light - a memory that clings to your senses long after the sun has dispelled the fog.
