The basis for this abstract work is a monotype or monoprint made with a gelliplate and acrylic paint. A unique handmade and one-off work, only one print can be made of your design. The graphic printing technique and the paper used create all kinds of structures and effects. This makes it interesting to look at.
For this work, I printed the plants in the paint and then transferred the remaining print onto a paper on which I had previously made the pink background. I associate the white circle with the moon. The pink colour makes this work look feminine, but the dark plants also give a strong masculine look. Symbols in the background give it something mysterious.
The plant used grows as a weed around my house.
It is the shepherd's purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris), which is a plant in the crucifer family (Brassicaceae). Shown here as in a modern herbarium, a wild plant from the garden.
It is a botanical work, I already made more botanical work using this technique.
