Sheep flock in the Loonse and Drunense dunes, North Brabant.
Loonse en Drunense Duinen nature reserve.
National Park and nature reserve.
In the Loonse en Drunense Duinen you will find heathland, forest and many sand drifts. It is one of the largest drifting sand areas in Western Europe. The wind can blow undisturbed in many places, creating an ever-changing landscape. In 1921, it was bought by Natuurmonumenten to protect it. It has now been protected for 100 years, which is why we can enjoy this Brabant Sahara.
You can go for fantastic walks and there are several cycling routes.
If you are lucky, you will see the shepherd with a flock on the heath.
