About ‘Shard, London’ by Mark de Weger

The Shard ("the shard") is a skyscraper in Southwark in London. The tower is 310 metres high and has 72 usable floors, plus another 15 floors of heating systems. When it opened on 5 July 2012, The Shard was the tallest building in Europe and the 44th tallest building in the world. The skyscraper has an irregular pyramid shape extending from the base to the top. It is completely covered with glass. The viewing gallery and open-air viewing platform, the tallest in the UK, are on the 72nd floor. The building is the replacement for Southwark Towers, a 24-storey office building built in 1976. Commissioned by London property developer Irvine Sellar, The Shard was designed in 2000-2001 by Italian architect Renzo Piano, who became internationally renowned for the Centre Pompidou in Paris,[1] construction began in April 2009.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
