from the dunes we see the beach and the sea with boats, sailing boats. Constant Permeke (Antwerp, 31 July 1886 - Ostend, 4 January 1952) was a Belgian expressionist painter and sculptor. He is considered the most important representative of Flemish expressionism. In his Ostend youth, Permeke attended academy in Bruges from 1903 to 1906.
