About ‘Sea snail @ komodo, description’ by Travel Tips and Stories

Sea slugs in Komodo National Park (Indonesia) are world-famous among divers for their breathtaking diversity and vibrant colours. These are mainly nudibranchs (Nudibranchia), shell-less molluscs known for their bizarre shapes and bright warning colours.

Some general characteristics and well-known species from this area:
Characteristics: Unlike land snails, these sea slugs have no protective shell. They breathe through gills that often sit like a small crown on their back, and ‘smell’ and navigate using two antennae (rhinophores) on their head.
Appearance: They vary enormously in size (from a few millimetres to over 10 cm) and have spectacular colour patterns. Some species appear to glow.
Diet: They are carnivores that feed on specific foods such as sponges, tunicates, corals and the eggs of other marine animals.
Popular species in Komodo
When diving and snorkelling in the waters around Komodo, the same spectacular main species are often spotted, including:
Chromodoris magnifica: A striking species with a white body, bright yellow edges and distinctive black and purple-blue lines.
Nembrotha kubaryana: Has a deep black body with contrasting, bright green or blue stripes and spots.
Phyllidiella pustulosa: A black snail with striking pink to red lines and warts on its back.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
