Eilean Donan Castle is probably one of the most visited sights in Scotland. The mighty bulwark on Loch Duich is impressive and you can understand why the castle has so often been used as a film set.
Depending on the time of day, there are also bagpipers playing in front of the bridge.
I can recommend a visit inside the castle (entrance fee only). The rooms are impressive, and in the kitchen in particular you get the impression that something is really being cooked here, as you can hear it bubbling, gurgling and whistling through well-hidden loudspeakers.
If you're staying nearby, don't miss the castle, which is illuminated in the evening - it's very beautiful!
